This was The Human Sound Project’s third workshop with a group of six. The theme of the day was “The Well” – as in that hole in the ground that humans have been using as a water source for thousands of years. We all added words, ideas, thoughts, feelings in relation to this ancient technology.

The lyrics were transformed using a set of musical games and exercises built upon from previous weeks. The verse melodies were improvised on the spot. Also employed was a glass cup and a wierd metalic object which made a great “ding”!

Song:

A set of lyrics were formed:

“Primitive stones, break my bones, water holds them all together, we drink the water from the well, been that way forever.
Where do things come from?
Questions, knowing.
Primitive Stones,
Break my Bones.
Water from the earth,
Falls from the sky.
Echoes bouncing off walls,
Glorious Heritage

Primitive stones, break my bones, water holds them all together, we drink the water from the well, been that way forever.

Deep in the well, where our wishes swim like fishes, its a vicious cycle that i know well. But time will tell, if the ringing of the bells, spells the end or a new beginning.

Primitive stones, break my bones, water holds them all together, we drink the water from the well, been that way forever”
